One crew. Start to finish.
Plenty of remodeling companies sell the job and then hand it off to whoever’s available. We don’t. Aside from utilities, the carpentry, cabinet installation, tile, flooring and finish work on your project is done by Black Label Building’s own craftsmen. The people who start your kitchen or bathroom are the same people who finish it, and by the end, they’ll know your house almost as well as you do.
We’re a locally owned general contractor with an office on Ryan Road in Franklin, and kitchen and bathroom remodeling is all we do. That focus means our crew has already worked through the tricky parts of older homes around here, like outdated plumbing, uneven floors and walls that aren’t quite where you’d like them to be. When something unexpected turns up behind a wall, and in a 50-year-old house it usually does, we’ll show you what we found and talk through your options before anything moves forward.
We know inviting a crew into your home is a big deal. You’re trusting us with the rooms where you start and end each day. That’s why we keep you in the loop, give you straight answers, and treat your home the way we’d want ours treated. Our favorite part of any project is the first morning you get to use your new space, when it finally feels like yours.

Most of the homes where we do kitchen and bathroom remodeling were built decades ago, so a lot of what changes is stuff you can’t always see in the after photo: new framing, plumbing, wiring, and subfloor.

What types of remodeling projects do you take on?
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling is all we do. That means full kitchen remodels, including layout changes, cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring and lighting, and bathroom remodels of every size, from primary baths to the hall bath that hasn't been touched in decades.
Since it's our only focus, our crew has seen just about everything an older home can throw at us. If you're not sure whether your project is a good fit, tell us about it and we'll be honest with you.
How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?
It really depends on the project. The size of the space, whether the layout is changing and how long materials take to arrive all play a part, so we'll give you a realistic timeline once we've seen your space and know what you have in mind.
A lot of the process happens before construction starts, during planning, selections and waiting on cabinets to be built. We don't start demolition until your material orders have been confirmed, so the room is only torn up while work is actually happening.

How far in advance should I schedule my remodeling project?
The earlier the better. Our schedule for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects fills up several months out, so we recommend reaching out six to eight months before you'd like the work done. That leaves time for design, selections and ordering without rushing anything.
If you're hoping to be finished before a holiday or a big family event, let us know up front and we'll tell you honestly whether it's realistic.
Do you help with design and material selections?
Yes. Once you're on the schedule, we'll go through materials and samples with you in person and narrow things down to a few options that fit your style and budget.
From there, we put together a floor plan and renderings so you can see how everything comes together in your space before anything is ordered.
Do you use subcontractors?
For most of the work, no. Aside from utilities like plumbing and electrical, the carpentry, tile, flooring and finish work is done by our own crew. The people who start your project are the same people who finish it.
Are your estimates really free?
Yes. We'll come out to your home, look at the space, take measurements and talk through what you have in mind. In-home estimates are free and available Monday through Saturday by appointment.
Can I stay in my home during the remodel?
Yes, most homeowners live at home for the whole project. Expect some dust and noise, especially on demolition days, but we keep the work contained to the space we're remodeling as much as we can.
If we're remodeling your kitchen or bathroom, keep in mind that room won't be usable while we work, so it's worth planning ahead for that stretch.
